HELL

Hell was originally prepared for the devil and his angels
Matthew ch 25 Vs 41 Then shall he say to them on the left hand,Depart from me,ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

Keep in mind as you read this that all of us will spend eternity somewhere. There is a difference in hell and the lake of fire.Hell is first, immediately after death, the lake of fire is later, after the Great White Throne Judgement. The end result is the same for the lost.Eternity of torment for refusing God's gift of his Son.

John 3 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life;but the wrath of God abideth on him.

It is interesting that Jesus spoke of Hell much more than he taught of Heaven. He quoted Isaiah Ch 66 vs 24 more times than any other verse and that had to do with people going to hell. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me:for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched;and they shall be an abhorring to all flesh.

The following verses from Luke's gospel are one of the most revealing stories about hell. From it we learn that Hell is a place of torment by fire.We also learn from these verses that souls in hell have memory and feeling. We also learn, contrary to some modern accounts, that souls do not get out of Hell once there(except to go into the lake of fire later). Your chance to avoid Hell comes in this life only. Luke ch 16 vs 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off,and Lazarus in his bosom.Vs 24 And he cried and said,Father Abraham, have mercy on me,and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue;for I am tormented in this flame.

Rev 20 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.Is your name written there? If you are an unbeliever can you afford the chance that you are wrong?

This concerning the judgement of lost people. Rev 20 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;and the books were opened:and another book was opened, which is the book of life:and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
You do not go to hell for the things you have done. You do go to hell for the thing you have not done."Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house".Acts ch 16 vs 31
